Why do some atheists try to argue about religion so much?

I know an atheist who always brings religion up- we were talking about pacman and he brought it up. Another atheist felt the need to dislike a friends status when he said he was spending time with God. Why are some atheists so argumentative?
 
Atheists in America are constantly bombarded with religion in their everyday lives. We are confronted with Christians trying to push their beliefs into our schools, laws, and government. We are preached at daily. We are the MOST distrusted and hated minority group in the country. We're fighting a rearguard action for our rights here.

Also, if you guys kept your religion to yourselves, you'd never hear a peep from atheists. We couldn't care less what you worship if you just keep it to yourself! Leave it out of our schools. Leave it out of our laws. Stop trying to convert people. Just leave everyone else alone and we'll stop having to defend ourselves.
 
And you realize that religion is everywhere. The holidays are mandatory, politicians shove it down our throats daily, the news talks about religious wars non stop. Just a small glimpse of the flipside.
 
As someone who does not believe: I love to argue to gain knowledge (This based on the philosophy of rhetoric). I think the reason that Atheists like to argue is because their reason for not believing is based on logic, which is important to philosophical thought. The problem is that people who believe in God place faith ahead of logic and many Atheists do not understand (because they use logic to understand it) how a theist thinks about God.
 
THE IGNORANT PEOPLE WITH LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ONLY FIGHT TO JUSTIFY THEIR APPROACH. TO PROVE THEY ARE RIGHT.
INTELLIGENT PEOPLE CAN HELP THEM UNDERSTAND IT WITH WISDOM AND PATIENCE.
BUT ATHEIST TRY SCIENTIFIC APPROACH YET THEY FAIL
 
you can't dislike a friend's status on facebook, unless you actually leave a comment saying dislike. and i know way more super annoying christians that try to convert me 24/7. at least when atheists argue about it, they bring up valid points with evidence
 
Is it because they have become consumed with the delusion that there is no God?

Hopefully not, because God is real.
 
i understand being argumentative if like the topic is about religion, but from pac man, i guess hes just that kind of person who needs others to believe wut he believes
 
If an atheist is arguing, it must be with a christian? it takes two to argue.
 
I talk about religion all the time because studying it is my life passion. I've dedicated myself to studying religion since I was 16 years old. My friends actually love when I bring up religion, even randomly, because they are not afraid of what I have to say. I never try to convert and I never argue. I simply discuss and inform.
