why do the make 3d movies that go to 2d dvd?

Sure, I understand about the 2d televisions, but if the movie is originally made in 3d, then that means that you won't ever get the same effect or experience as when you saw the film at the movies. That's what I mean in not understanding why they even make the film in this way to begin with.

Because most people do not have televisions are are 3D compatible yet. Once more people opt to buy those televisions we'll see an increase in "special" 3D dvd's and bluerays.
