why do women throw themselves at celebs?

I've worked with several celebs and woman throw themselves at them. Whats' the attraction for them to do that? Do they think they are going to make them fall for them? Or is it just to say they did a celeb?
and despite rumours Dustin Diamond..Nice guy..
 
I threw myself at Olivia Newton-John when I was twelve.

Seemingly it's not gender specific. I even did a collect call to her agent at the same age and asked to speak to her.
 
I don't think it's just girls, there's loads of idiots of each gender who thinks being a celebrity is some great thing. I think guys would just be more 'cool' about it, they can hardly start screaming, 'I love you!'
 
I think it's a cominbation of both, plus just being dazzled by the star power.
 
Maybe they just like the idea of being someone's "mystery hottie" on TMZ.
 
The same reason why MEN throw themselves at women celebrities or athletes... money, power, fame, reputation (they can tell people), or maybe they just want a roll in the hay.
Is it mostly women I see at the adult stores lined up with their little pencils and paper waiting for the current weeks visiting porn star to sign their napkin or DVD. For some reason I thought it was men. Why do men throw themselves at them? What's the attraction? Do they think they're going to make them fall for them?
