John 13:19
Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I am He.

in the Bible there are many prophecies concerning the events of the last days, while the fulfillment of a handful of these could be a cioncidence, but how can you refute the fulfillment of so many?

the Bible prophecies ungodliness in the last days, while there have always been people who fulfill these, i cant help but argue that we have seen a huge increase in people living in this way in the past few decades.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

the Bible also prophecies that the Gospel would be preached to all nations, with increases in travel, the internet, radio, and television programs, portions or all of the Bible have been translated into over 2,300 languages and dialects covering over 90% of the world's population.

Matthew 24:14
14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

that there would be war around the world ( possibly world wars 1 and 2) there are over 50 major armed conflicts in the world today, note also this verse does not refer to the existance of war but a dramatic increase of it.

Mark 13:8
8Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

the earth would be filled with violence, In the United States alone, violent crime has increased nearly 500% since 1960, again not meaning the existance of violence worldwide but a dramatic increase of it.

Luke 17:26
26"Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.
Genesis 6:11
11 Now the earth was corrupt in God's sight and was full of violence.

that many would travel to and fro to gain knowlege, in 2006 there were over 229,640 international students from outside the european union studying in the UK alone, between the years of 2000 to 2006 this number increased by 48%.

Daniel 12:4
4 But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge."

that the nation of israel would be born in one day, On May 14, 1948 Israel became a nation

Isaiah 66:8
8 Who has ever heard of such a thing?
Who has ever seen such things?
Can a country be born in a day
or a nation be brought forth in a moment?
Yet no sooner is Zion in labor
than she gives birth to her children.

these are only a few

if you cannot refute these prophecies, and yet still deny that they are true and that the Bible is God's word, why do you ignore this? remember that all of the prophecies i have talked about have been fulfilled within (and not before) the past century, that is less than a 100 year span of 2000. with these prophecies not stating that ' in the future this will happen' but ' in the last days'. i'm only asking that you consider these prophecies or why you ignore them

Jeremiah 17:9
9 The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?

Only the Father in heaven knows for sure when the world will end. However, one can prepare for that day, whenever it will occur, by praying the rosary daily. See the following promises.

The rosary is explained here:
http://www.ewtn.com/Devotionals/Prayers/rosary/how_to.htm

The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.
9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

God bless!

Why do you ignore the parts of these same portions of the Bible which are inconvenient to your pre-conceived theory?

Luke 21: 32 and Matt. 24: 34

Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things have taken place.

Matt. 24: 6

And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet.

Matt. 24:24

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and produce great signs and omens, to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

and most especially, Matt. 24: 36

But about that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

You have one good point: We are always supposed to live as if the end were coming today. Who knows? For us, it might be, even if not for the whole world. But why waste time argueing over when it is coming or in what precise form, and thus risk being one of the false messiahs or false prophets? Get on with living a life of lovingkindness in this world. All the rest is dangerous clutter which obscures the truth: God is love.

Oooo boy...again with the prophecies..

*cracks knuckles*

Do you honestly think that none of these things have occured before and that they are unique to our present time?
This is the thing about prophecies: they are vague, broad and general and open to interpretation.
How many times have people cried "end of times" on the exact same material that you are using...
And yet...here we are.

2 Timothy - can you think of a time in all of history when that wasn't true? I can't.

Can you think of a time when there weren't wars in various places around the world? I can't. Even the two world wars didn't literally affect the entire world.

Violent crime has not increased since the 1960s. Check the real statistics, not the crap some preacher made up.

People have always traveled to gain knowledge. Even when travel was much harder than it is today, people took the time to travel for that reason.

Then there's the fact that nearly every generation convinces itself that the prophecies are about its own time:

http://www.religioustolerance.org/end_wrl2.htm

I suspect that people can't imagine the world going on without them, so rather than face that fact they pretend that they were selected to witness the end of the world. It's much more satisfying than admitting that you're just another one of the billions of humans that have lived on this planet through history.

This is so vague, it could apply to just about anytime. Much of it sounds like Rome, which is probably what it is about. The "predictions" in Daniel are about the Maccabean Israel, not the modern-day state (compare with I Maccabees in the so-called "Apocrypha").

As it was in the days of Noah--in the days of Noah people scoffed at the idea of sinfulness, just as many do today. They also were 'eating, drinking and being merry' and mocked those who tried to warn them. So it seems the same is happening today-every man does that which is right in his own eyes, forsaking the way of the Lord. The heart is deceitful above all things is very true.
People ignore the prophecies because they do not 'see' them as being fulfilled.
Watch and learn.
One must also balance the prophecies with an all merciful, long suffering God.
