I have a Pantech Impact and I like it for texting. It's a really great phone, great battery life and ease of texting. It has a button the keyboard that quickly accesses the menu for texting and buttons that will pull up a blank text messages. It shows the message as a conversation much like the iPhone does. You have 2 choices of font to choose from and you can choose between small, medium, and large fonts for ease of viewing everything.
The internet isn't anything like a smartphone of course and you can't set up easy access to any websites from the phone but you can set them up once you pull up the browser. It has a quick access button to both emails, IM, and the web browser and it's easy to maneuver around all of them. It's relatively fast to pull up the internet and runs it very well. I mostly use Facebook and Google. All in all it's a very great phone for not being a smart phone.
