while converting video from avi to dvd it errors during the audio conversion. i am using dvdflick and i also tried winff though i have a feeling it's not the software. certain movies like repoman
This question belongs in the SOFTWARE section of the forum because it probably has nothing to do with the HARDWARE you are using. But let me give you some pointers anyway.
1). The software encoding itself may be flawed. This has nothing to do with the hardware. It has everything to do with how the software was written and how it can handle the tasks it is supposed to perform.
2). Encoding and decoding capabilities are limited by the kind of hardware that you have. You should have adequate hardware resources to ensure that encoding and decoding are done efficiently.
Usually, only the best cpu's, the most RAM, the best video GPU's available and the fastest hard disks are required. Video encoding and decoding are some of the most hardware intensive tasks (resource intensive) that you can have. So if you are using a cheap computer, you get glitches, hang ups, distortions, failures...evaluate your hardware and see what you need to do to meet the demands of the hardware constraints.
3). The conversion from one codex to another depends upon the efficiency of the codexs themselves. Poorly written codexes produce poor results.
