Why does keep happening ? iPhone 3g Question...?

Sometimes when I try to install an application it says "not compatiable with this iPhone". Why does it say that. I have an iPhone 3g.

There are diffrent applications that are only made to work with either the iPhone, iPod, or both.
You may be trying to install a application that is not meant to work with the iPhone.
