Why does LG Blue Ray freeze and turn off?

Every time I watch a TV show on netflix, the player will either freeze or turn off right at the beginning. It hasn't done that for a movie, just for TV shows. It also turned itself off after installing an update, just curious if anyone else has had the problem and if they have found a solution? -please only respond if you know what to do, or if you have experienced the same problem.
