I recently gt a Suzuki RM80 bought years ago that was used very, very little. It looks near brand new except for a few scratches. It belonged to my aunt to rode it very rarely when she bought it. The bike would at first start and idle only if the choke was on. The carburetor was taken apart about three times, and was cleaned up a bit. Now, the bike will start well and idle and run well, for a while. Then it will eventually die and won't start for days, but after left sitting, the bike will run again without a problem. My father isn't a small engines guy, and hasn't yet taken the carburetor to smeone who can check it out. Can anyone name any problems that might be causing that?
Also, it is worth mentioning that my father, who used to own a few dirt bikes claims that it sounds like it is starving for gas, or the carb is letting in too much air, but most likely the first one. The slide on the carb looked fine, and the idle adjustment screw didn't make any difference. Thanks for the help
