why does my car make a humming/whining noise when my air conditioning is turned on?

It happens worse when you accelerate but the noise isnt made when the air conditioner is off. same noise for the heater/defroster.
I just bought a new blower motor. and its coming from the compressor.. it could possibly be the clutch.. im just not entirely sure

What ever makes your heat and ac work needs replacing.I think there is a special fan that does both systems so it would be your fan motor having a problem and if it works off a belt then check the belt.
