I am a scratch golfer, with an average driver swing speed of 114 mph. I can also bump it up over 120 if i try but thats not my average, I also hit the ball consistently over 300 yards so its not really a difference in yardage but it sounds so much different. I was at a tour event and noticed all of the pga tour pros that are hitting the R11 driver that is the same as mine, made a lower pitch sound. When I hit the ball of the tee it makes a loud *PING* and when they hit it it almost sounds like a lower pitched smash sound. I have the same swing speed as the pro's, and hit the sweet spot in the center of the club 95% of the time.
Is it something different that they are doing or is it just the fact that I'm 20 feet away from them hitting so the initial sound doesn't sound the same to me.
