Why does my DVD drive doesnt read and of my DVD or CDs?

I have tired with many and many of my DVD/CDs and the computer never read and when i try to open it using by going in to My Computer the page ends up Not Responding.

Anyone knows why is it this problem?

I am using a desktop and so my DVD drive is an Internal DVD drive.

What should I do?!
