There are folks out there more knowledgeable than I am but in my experience: check if you have more than one copy of IE on your computer, delete or uninstall the older copy. The virus protection programs especially anti phish ones, slow down things a lot. If you have more than one at work it will really slow down. Make a choice. Check your Internet Options security settings: medium is usually strong enough. Get as much RAM memory installed as you can afford. More RAM will make a dramatic difference in how your computer runs.
