Why does my metro pcs phone say 3G when its only the regular network phone

(LG optimus)? I have the LG Optimus from metro pcs and I see where the two arrows are that go up and down have a 3G signal logo thing going over it. Just appeared like a couple of mins ago and this phone is not 3G so im wondering if anyone else see this on there metro phone.

nope.. I have the same exact phone and it says 1x where you see 3g.
