why does my silicone cell phone skin smell so badly?

i bought this "skin" for my LG VU and it smells horrible. it literally gives me a headache

Silicone tends to retain moisture and what you are probably smelling is mold. I would throw it away.

It's probably just the smell of the plastic. Some plastics give off a very strong, nauseating odor.
