Why does my Toys Story 3 DVD freeze?

I just bought my Toy Story 3 DVD yesterday, and I played it on my laptop. A minute and nine seconds into the movie, it froze. I took it back, got another copy and tried it on my laptop again, and it still froze. So I tried it on the PlayStation 3 and it works perfectly. Why doesn't it work on my laptop?
 
The spinning disk may be overheating your laptop. Try a few other DVDs on your laptop, check the TS3 disk for tiny scratches tooBut once I had a similar problem with a CD. It turned out to be a manufacturer's problem where every disk in the batch was corrupted in the same place. It's also a sign that the DVD was produced by bootleggers.
