Why does my video in my iTunes library only work on iTunes, but not on my iPod?

I recently downloaded the movie Juno as an mp4 file, and I opened the downloaded file with iTunes. It works perfectly on my computer's iTunes library, but whenever I try to sync my iPod with my Library, a little box comes up telling me that Juno cannot be played on my iPod. Why is it that it doesn't work on my iPod? How can I fix it? Or should I just assume that the file will never work?
 
Ok I think u need to go to the movies section of ur Itunes and ckick on the movie then go to advanced and select make an ipod/ ipod touch version... Its something like that
