Why does The Matrix have so many hidden meanings related to God/christianity/judaism?

If you've seen the movies and go to any site like the matrix explained you'll see a lot of hidden messages are related to the bible/religion in general. Why is that? Or do people just over-interpret things?
 
Because it makes great entertainment. I enjoyeds it immeasely. all three episode, wished they make more.
 
We are trying to understand our relationship with our environment. Do we make it up or is it just the way it is and affecting us? Both Jesus and Buddha addressed this issue.
 
Just because someone interprets a movie in a certain way doesn't mean they are correct. It's simply their opinion.
 
Actually, it has references to Hinduism, real spirituality, Quantum physics.......

The world doesnt revovle around Jesus freaks.
