Why doesn't mobile apps show URL like web browsers?

Why doesn't apps show URL like web browsers? I mean for instance, YouTube is a website, if you develop mobile apps for it wouldn't it still need to fetch the videos from the mainstream website? I'd like to know how does the URLs gets hidden in those apps?

P.S - I have no programming/coding knowledge.
