why doesnt youtube send me emails alerts when a video is uploaded?

everytime I subscribe to a channel I always make sure to tick the little box saying "Also email me for each new upload" but it has been a few days and I keep seeing more videos in my subscription box that I have yet to receive an email for...

why YouTube???
also the last email I got about a new video was the day before yesterday...
 
They only e-mail you like once a week for all the new subscription uploads you have. Also, if you watch them immediately when you see them in the subscription box, they won't e-mail you, because that video will already have been previously viewed by you and there would be no need to further notify you
