Why have some actors and actresses left Hollywood....?

And why do some actors and actresses leave Hollywood and have gone to or go to places like New York, Colorado, Texas, or Idaho? What is it about Hollywood that makes these people leave? I'm aware of some actors and actresses who were famous back in the 1970s and 1980s who have left Hollywood and others who are leaving now and they end up in New York, Texas, or Idaho? Is there something wrong with Hollywood and the way of life that exists there?
What actors and actresses have left Hollywood to live normal lives or to put an end to the stress that Hollywood brings? What are their stories? And what do those who have quit Hollywood do as an alternative?
 
Being famous wasnot really that important to them! and they may choose to live normal life have family instead of living for all under lights and camera all time(there is no sense of life there!). They knew what they are doing by the way!:)
 
Yes some of them probably think that other places have a more normal way of life. Hollywood is cut throat and very artificial. I think too that NY is seen as being a bit more high brow and intellectual.
 
I don't think you can have an ordinary life in Hollywood, with the paps and the constant stalking and the lack of privacy and the horrible standards of what's acceptable behavior. I suspect people stay away from Hollywood so that they can live like ordinary human beings. Some people don't want to get sucked into the publicity machine and the red carpet and the endless photographers and the drugs and nightlife scene. Johnny Depp is an excellent example.
