Why haven't Microsoft produced a Handheld Console?

Honestly...the market couldn't sustain another portable. The DS has a HUUUUUGE chunk, and the PSP has whatever's left.

A Microsoft handheld would probably sputter and die.

I think they do. And probably because they're a waste of time!

"Gaming on the go!"
That's great, but my screen has glare and I can't see jack s***. So really, it's not on the go, it's useless.?

they are making one, it's called xCube

it has 2 analog sticks
1 on top left and 1 on the bottom right
Directional pad on bottom left, and the 4 buttons on top right.
screen is on top of the buttons, and it has the 4 buttons on the back.

It costs a lot of money to get into the market. They could fail and then be down a lot of money.

However for years rumours have circulated that they will be announcing plans soon. Best just wait and see.

i wondered the same thing too
i even did some research on it a little while ago
microsoft doesn't want to be known only as video gaming
they are looking more toward being recognized for their music industry
it was released that if they did ever make a handheld console it would be more focused around a music player, like a zune but also have a gaming platform on it
