Why is DivX not working for me?

In the past I have installed the updates, but found that they do not work, and so have gone back to the old version. I just tried again, and it's bringing up the same message, telling me to install the missing plug ins (DivX web player). I do this, restart, and the message is still there. Has anyone else had this problem?
Edit: I installed VLC, and now DivX is running like the good old days again. No idea what it is or how it works, but thanks!
 
I see your problem, but may I ask you if you tried with vlc media player. I think it actually plays everything. If not, try that.
