Why is it that a lot of "Android" Apps don't work in AppsLib?

How come every time I select a URL to download an app on my Coby Internet Tablet I get routed to a "Market" site that is "not found." Yahoo! Mail and B&N Nook are two apps that I can't seem to download. B&N says it's because I'm using Android 2.0, but I'm not sure how to upgrade to 2.3. I find the Android site confusing and not very clear about how to upgrade if I want to. Any help / suggestions?

Most Android tablets don't support the Android Market. Yours is probably one of them. It may have an alternate market app, but who knows how well it works (Coby is not exactly a brand well-known for quality, and Android tablets in general so far - except for the Galaxy tab - get pretty poor reviews). Even if you did have the real Market, I know that the Android Market won't display apps that it thinks are not compatible with your device.

As far as how/if you can upgrade to Android, that would probably be something to ask Coby. Upgrades for Android devices don't come from the Android site or from Google, instead they come from the device manufacturer (and/or the phone company, if it's a phone). It's very unlikely that there is an upgrade to 2.3 since there aren't any 2.3 upgrades available for any Android devices yet, because 2.3 it's too new.
