Why is it that my playstation3 will play one region 1 dvd but not another?

I have a PlayStation3 that plays transformers (a region 1 dvd) but it wont play my wall.e that is also region 1 and I received it also from the US.
They were both purchased from Amazon, but transformers plays no worries but Wall.e wont. If anyone could help it would be great, im getting very frustrated!!!
