Why is my bit torrent so slow?

My internet speed is 17MB/s.
I understand that it depends on seeds as well.
The thing I am downloading had 24 seeds (50)
Surely it shouldn't be downloading at 3KB/s ?

depending on ur leachs if its like 50 seed and 100 leach then it will slow down alot! if the ratio is not good then you will have slow speed.

follow these steps that will speed it up a bit faster.
1. right click and set bandwidth location high.
2. depending on ur uploading like if its 30kbs up then put the max at 20kbs
3 make sure that you dont have anything running in the back round like hotmail or a internet game or youtube or some thing that is using the internet

2. Check the amount of global connections allowed
3. Check how many torrents you seed
4. Check if there is a download limit set
5. Run a wizard to tune the application for such speed if available
