Why is my car making this roaring noises when i stop at the light?

This never happen until today when driving home from school. Every time i stop at the light, the car is making these roaring noises and its loud but when i drive, everything is going smoothly.
Whats the problem?

PS. I have a Nissan Pathfinder

Your in need of new brake pads on the fronts. If not changed really soon, will be needing new rotors too. More money!!

I had a similar situation. I found out that it was coming from my speakers, I hit the radio button on accident and it selected a non-active channel. lol

might be the fan kicking on to cool your radiator, i'd have to hear it to help you
