It's really a shame that his nonsensical, vague ravings are taken more seriously than his medical practice. Since he recognized that cleanliness was the best means of avoiding the Black Death, many of his patients survived while millions of others were dying. If it hadn't been for those stupid predictions, he would be remembered as an outstanding physician instead of a mystic.
