why is sony starting to charge to play online ? WITH NETWORK GAME PASSES ?

so you pay £300 for a playstation 3

then you want a game as well lol £39.99 each!!!

and now they want you to go on the psn store to buy a game pack that gives you a "NETWORK PASS"

I MEAN LIKE WHAT THE HELL ?????????????????


THEY ARE RIPPING US OFF BIG TIME ..

AND THIS NEW PS3 PLUS THING AS WELL £39.99 FOR A YEAR .. ITS ALL A BLOODY CON

PSN+ is completely optional, and nothing has been stated saying that Sony will start charging for the normal internet. All PSN+ does is give you discounts on downloads, as well as give you early access to betas and a few other exclusive trinkets, all of which add on the the original online platform.

Network Passes make it to where each copy of a game comes with 1 free code, which lets you access the multiplayer features. This is to help with used game sales, which don't give developers any money. Sony is not the only company doing this, Microsoft is starting to do the same, and PC developers have been doing it for a long time. Don't worry, playing online is still free. The only extra money you may have to pay in the future is a $5-$10 charge for a game pass, and that's only if you buy the game used.
 
Um ever heard of xbox 360 and xbox live. sony is losing money compared to microsoft so they're trying to make some money doing what microsoft has been doing since the xbox 360 came out.
