Why were people complaining over the little things about Princess and the Frog?

I just watched Princess and the Frog and was wondering: Why the hell did people get upset at every little thing when Princess and the Frog came out?

I heard something about her name being Maddy so they changed it. (I don't see what's wrong with that)

Then it was set in New Orleans...So? It's a great city

And Naveen wasn't black (Why would that matter?)

And People made a huge deal about "the first Disney black princess". I'm not racist or anything but there have been Chinese, French, Native America, Middle Eastern/Indian, British, etc princesses. I thought they were just making their way around getting as cultural as possible. I never thought Disney was racist before but people made a big deal out of all of this.

Can someone explain why because I am completely baffled by it. People are just too sensitive.
 
probably because this is the first disney black anything. and then america's past with discrimination against blacks.
 
you got it... people are just too sensitive. anything to stir up some gossip.
 
some people are just retarded and don't like change, and when things change they express there displeasure by being racist and complaining.
