Why wont a downloaded torrent open in acquisition?

I had acquisition on my computer and whenever i downloaded a torrent from thepiratebay it would have the acquisition symbol on it and would open fine. i tried switching to limewire because acquisition was being faulty and the symbol switched to the lime and it worked. ive tried to go back to acquisition, but when i try to open the torrents it says there is no application designated to open this file and when i choose acquisition nothing happens. please help!
