Why Wont My Blue Ray Player Rad Blue-Ray Discs?

Every time I put a Blue Ray Disc inside my Blue Ray Player, the Disney Castle stays there for an hour (I know this because when I hit pause it says: "0:03/53:07"). When I put in a regular Disc, it plays automatically. When we bought it at HH Gregg, they said it was a Blue Ray Player. What's up with my Blue Ray Player?
