Why wont my burnt DVD movie play on a mac?

Hey all, I downloaded a Harry potter movie, converted it to 3 different formats, .MPG(PAL), .MPG(NTSC), and .dvd(through renaming it) ..........
then i burnt those onto 3 different blank DVD-R CD's using the built in burner on the mac.

Now NONE of those work on two different DVD players i have.. so someone said that either, it might be a wrong CD type, or the DVD needs to be "filled" or some other thing
 
It's probably a file format which Mac can't read, Find a file type that can be read by macs. I think .wav can (not sure though)

Maybe if you burn it to a disc using .wav it'll work :)
