about 6 months ago my saab 93 blew its turbo so oil and coolant was distributed accordingly. I got a new turbo and intercooler and the car ran just fine for about six months. I started it the other day (it happened to be one of the coldest mornings we have had in a while) and headed to work. About half a mile into the drive (25 MPH dirt road) I started to accelerate and the engine bogged down and there was severe power loss. Then it just quit completely like it stalled out (btw its an automatic) I tried to restart it and it would start but the boost gauge would start to spike at idle and as the boost would reach the max of the gauge the car would idle worse and worse until it would stall I managed to limp the car home but I cant figure out whats wrong?????? HELP! please
ok I understand the clogged exhaust thing but that wouldnt have suddenly just happened all at once, right? the night before my car ran fine, this was a very sudden and abrupt change and I dont want to spend money on a new cat, i live in kansas and dont need to pass any emissions. The car is not drivable in anyway its not just running badly, it will idle for a minute or two at most until it just stalls. It seems to be putting out a little black smoke like its running really rich. but I dont understand where all this overboosting at idle is coming from, something with the bpc valve???? and then the car goes into some kinda overboost protection??
