Why would he say such a lame joke?

So I was talking to my friend on facebook the other day (Hes a guy), and the conversation was becoming kind of awkward (like there was nothing else to say...), and he said the **lamest joke ever** just to keep the conversation going. why'd he do that? does he care about talking to me or something? thanks xo :)
 
Actually men tend to get nervous and love to keep women in-grossed so they will go to crazy extremes it is kinda cute.I have some stories to tell.But ya he is just trying to keep you entertained next time tell him to go find a good joke on the internet one he thinks is super funny then share it with you.U would be surprised gee-ring them in what you want works all the time.
 
he probably wanted you to keep talking to him, and he was probably bored.
