Why wouldn't limewire, frostwire or ares connect to the network on my pc?

I was first using limewire and then suddently it started "connecting" but it never connected. So after days of dealing with limewire I uninstalled it and intalled ares 3.1. As soon as I downloaded the software it'd say the same thing as limewire "connecting" and it didn't connect either. Same thing happened with frostwire. I even tried disableling my firewall and it still didn't work. I made sure all were exceptions on my firewall. I've tried almost everything on the web.

Please help. I don't have an anti-virus (Mcfee expired.
I really want to go back to downloading my favorite music.
So if anything.. Please hellp!!!...
