This may sound ignorant or whatever but im upgrading to the htc incredible in september and i wanted to know more about the OS and ive learned basically everything i need to about the android system but i still have questions about the software. Like what is this root i keep hearing about like what does it do, im familiar with iphone jail breaking its supposed to unlock the phone so u can do what u want with it or something so is this android root the same thing and what is usb tethering and do i need to do this to be able to get the 2.2 froyo update will any of this void my warranty or cause problems, if anybody has any info its appreciated as im not very familiar with using smartphones just yet.
