to power a crescendo BC5500D?? any suggestions?
are u positive because i had voltage drop with one yellow top up front and stock 70 amp alt on a AQ2200. and now im up grading to a crescendo BC5500D .and the big 3 is already done. all 0 gauge.
at airforce . i haven't had any problems with the yellow top i've had it for about a year now. and on the alts im probably just going to remove the a/c compressor since it don't work anyways and place another alt there. tht's if i cant get a 270amp alt in there than ill just get 2 130 amp alts.

Get the largest alternator you can. If 200 amps is the largest that will fit your car, then get that. As for yellow tops, they're pretty much garbage. Look into a battery built specifically for car audio. Stinger, Shuriken, etc.

You could always look into a multi alternator bracket and running two or three alternators. That would be more beneficial than the extra batteries. You want to max out your alternator options first, then hit the batteries.

Check these sites out...it is a good reference.

If your headlight dims with the bass notes, the “BIG 3” might work. If not an H.O. alternator will be needed, or else be prepared to pour a lot of $$$ for batteries.

This site explains the "BIG 3" upgrades.

I've designed my car for SQ (Sound Quality) not SPL (Sound Pressure Level) my imaging is very good. The bass sounds as if it is up front and my 12 inch sub (picture as shown) in the trunk. I LOVE how it all worked out.

GOOD LUCK and have fun…

over kill, all you need is a smaller second battery to put closer to the amplifiers.they have a battery made to act as a second battery for this job look into it. and a 200 amp alternator is over kill most stock alt. are 90 to 100 amps.look into the big 3 upgrade on u tube or 12volt.com.
