will an unlocked lg xenon cell phone work on an att gophone plan?

if somebody who has the unlocked xenon on gophone could answer or if someone who knows what they are talking about. Will all the features still function properly, most important text and calling. I just dont want to waste my money on buying a phone that wont work.
