Will cell phone alarm work overseas?

I will be spending the upcoming semester in London, and I was hoping that I would be able to use the alarm on my cell phone so I don't have to buy one. Obviously I know I won't be able to make calls on the phone, but will the alarm function work? Since it doesn't require signal or anything?
