I have started going to the gym to lose weight and tone my body (in particular my tummy and legs) and have really been enjoying using the treadmill and cross trainer for cardio. I haven't tried the excersise bike yet because im scared that it will make my thigh muscles bigger? Will it?

Thigh muscles as in quads and hamstrings are affected by running treadmill and biking. It is all about how you do the workout. Sprinting on a treadmill will build leg muscle. Running will increase cardio health and leg tone-age. Jogging will lose weight. Same with biking. Bike fast, or with heavy resistance, your muscles will get stronger. Bike at a pace with medium resistance that you can do for a decently long amount of time will increase muscular endurance/tone-age.

Yes it will. However, if you use is well, you won't get the bulky thighs you obviously don't want. Whenever you use it, put it on a relatively low resistance and pedal at a jogging speed. This will only burn calories, and won't build muscle. It will add to the overall tone of your legs, too.

Don't rule the exercise bike out completely, just make sure you don't go intense on it. I hope that helps!!
