Will I lose my photos or text messages if I update my android phone to Froyo?

I have an LG Apex and I am going to update my phone to the Froyo 2.2 software, and I'm just wondering if I will lose all of my pictures or important texts I have saved in my inbox during the update. If anyone has done the update and could answer this, I'd appreciate it.
 
I highly doubt it.
I'm an iOS user, and though I hate to admit it, I don't think Droids would be as popular if their updates did that :)
