I was charged almost 2 years ago with possession of an ounce and a half bagged up in dime sacks. I was sentenced to no jail time and two years probation because I had no priors. I haven't had any run in with the law since then. Im trying get my guard card I want know if I will get denied my guard card cause of this conviction.

It depends on how old you were at the time of the conviction.

If you were a minor, the record will be sealed and nobody can examine the court documents without permission from a judge. This is to give minors a chance to become valuable members of society. Minors with convictions will not be granted high security jobs, but they can get most jobs.

If you were tried as an adult (over the age of majority) you can not hide the conviction, it is a public record. You might convince a judge to expunge the record, but that is very unlikely.

Best of luck.
