Will my 1080i hd tv play blue ray movies?

I have a samsung hdtv that can do 1080i. it dose have an hdmi input, so would it play a blue ray movie?
 
If you're using a Blu-Ray player or PS3 to view them on..
 
Yes, it can play Blu-Ray just fine, just that the content is interlaced.

Set it to output at 1080i rather than 720p or 1080p if you have a 1080i HDTV.
 
I can't wait to see some of these people delve into detailed responses to an absurdly simple question. Yes. Bluray is HD there for the idea is that it will play on an HDTV. Though just in case your ultra confused, yes, you also need the Blu Ray or PS3 to play the BluRay disc. Its funny how simple things aren't simple through simple eyes...
 
Yes it can, but not at the full 1080p resolution that Blu-Ray can do. It will still look better than DVD.

Consider using the 720p setting instead of 1080i. I believe it gives a more stable picture.
