I have heard 50/50 on whether they will or whether they won't. According to those I have spoken with, they say that they will do a boob job or tummy tuck "for morale" but I'm not sure if that applies only to active duty, or if it applies to dependents as well.
I am a mother of two, my husband is active duty, and I am looking at getting a tummy tuck done, but I would like to see if Tricare covers it (if not all, then at least some) before I set up an appointment. I have a lot of loose skin in my abdominal region from my two pregnancies, and we are not planning on having any more children. I was told by one person that the skin would have to hang below the pubic bone in order for Tricare to pay for it, but then I also heard that it only had to overlap.
I would like to know what the criteria is for Tricare to pay for this surgery so I can know roughly what the cost will be out of pocket (if any of it). Anyone who has dealt with Tricare before knows that you can never get the same answer twice, so I would like to hear from people who have actually dealt with Tricare in regards to cosmetic surgery.
