I want to copy some DVD's I have onto my Windows Vista with a program called "Handbreak" will it damage my DVD's in anyway?
I may get a Windows 7 soon will it damage them If I use handbreak on it to?

1) Never heard of Handbreak. There is handbrake though.

2) Handbrake does NOT damage DVDs. In fact, nothing short of bad drive and bad scratches will damage a DVD.

Handbreak reads the data and transcodes it so it's like asking "Will playing a DVD in a DVD/BluRay player damage my DVDs?

I like this free converter http://www.squared5.com better than this free converter. http://www.handbrake.fr/

No they won't hurt the DVD. Once something is burned to a DVD there is really no way to get physically take the files off, what you are doing is converting a copy of the files, the original is still there. This is not the case with rewritable dvd's.
