Windows 7 cannot burn any CD's or DVD's, it use to before but all of a sudden

it keeps giving me an error msg? It says:

The disc wasn't burned successfully. Make sure that you have the latest firmware for your CD or DVD burner installed, and then try again.

Now I don't know what it could be, my laptop is up to date and downloads any updates everyday. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
 
go to the manufacture's website and download the newest drivers for your OS
 
As it says, most of times, the problem should be with firmware. Search the problem on net with the model of your Laptop.
