I created a video and the video file is a .wmv file. I just bought a new external DVD writer that states that it writes to both DVD-R and DVD+R. I was able to burn to the DVD-R, but it didn't work in my DVD player. So I tried to burn it to a DVD+R disc and it won't burn...Any ideas on why it won't? I have a Pioneer DVR-XD10 that I just purchased from Best Buy today.

Thanks

you need to finalize a DVD before it will play in a player, some DVD +R will not work in some writers look up the list of compatible brands on the pioneer website

Some DVD players do support computer video files but this is a special feature and you will have to check the DVD player manual it find out if yours does. It may also only play such files from CD-Rs and not from DVD-Rs.
But primarily, you should understand that a video DVD is a special disk format including the folders so you may have to convert your computer files to such a DVD disk.

You first need to convert the wmv file to dvd format before burning the files to the dvd. Some players can handle divx format but most don't.

Use DVD authoring software like TMPGenc authoring works.
