So...any fellow Wowheads out there will already know what this pertains to from the subject.
My questions are here to help anyone else that may be searching on this topic.
1.) Is there anyone out there that is NOT experiencing problems and is playing in patch 4.0 just fine? If so is there a status message on the login screen that details that Blizz is aware of this problem and what their intentions are? Do they give a tentative date that they expect the patch issues will be resolved or are they just "working to address the issue"?
2.) Has anyone managed to get through to customer service? If so what are they advising? Is it helpful? And has anyone asked the golden question "Are you going to adjust my subscription renewal date to reflect all of these days that I have not been able to play?"
Here is what I can personally offer those that are confused.
1.)I am stuck in the launcher at the "Downloading updated tools" screen.I get to 50% or just before and a dialogue box pops up reading "updater connection timeout ".The dialogue box then closes and when I attempt to reopen it I am back to square 1 with the same screen resuming at 1%.
Things that have NOT worked:
1.) No need to waste your time downloading the client from Battle.net.I tried and it did not help me one bit.The problem is not the content. The problem is the tracker and the host.
2.)No need to run the repair utility repeatedly.Run it once.If it's clear it's clear.I did this twice. There are nothing wrong with my files.
3.)Uninstalling and reinstalling is a waste of time.Again if the repair utility says nothing is corrupt or damaged, there's no need.
4.)No need calling nor emailing Blizz.Tech support AND Customer service phone lines are full 24/7 and have been for a few days now. They are not responding to emails.
If anyone HAS gotten through please share whatever advice they dispensed. The rest of us want to log on already
