would a burmese cat or other small cat play with my dog?

i have a 9 month old border collie puppy and i would really like to get a cat. i don't just want one who will put up with my dog, i would like it if they could play together and got along well. one of my friends has a gorgeous cat and she plays with the family dog and they sleep together at night. i realise that it will mostly come down to personality but since my puppy is quite young and i would get a kitten (possibly from a rescue place but no older than 1 year) would a burmese be likely to be like this or is there any other breed that generally gets along well with dogs?
